Welcome to The Third Branch: a new blog dedicated to commentary both serious and salacious about the Australian judiciary. Here at the Branch, we were so impressed with American sites like the Volokh Conspiracy and How Appealing that we decided that Australia deserved its own. So, under the guidance of our resident arborist, we hope to entertain and inform by providing commentary and analysis of recent cases, developments in the law, stories in the press, and the like.
